WHAT'S NEW?

I just learned that there is a new version of the ESP32-S3-Touch-AMOLED-1.8 sold by waveshare.

If you encounter troubles flashing/installing apps maybe you already have got the v2

I will update all my apps as soon as possible to ensure compatibility for both v1 and v2. I'll keep you updated!

I fixed it! All apps should work now for both - v1 and v2

UPDATE 06/27/2026 There were still problems with compatibility for some apps (1x1, clock, dice, http-trigger, bubble-level, worldclock, magic-8ball, weather). (I think) I fixed it for good this time ...

All new apps now double as a USB stick / card reader. Just plug in the USB cable to live-edit your setup.txt, upload images, and more. No need to flash the USB Stick app first anymore.

HTTP Trigger is live. Configure screens in a text file on the SD card → tap → fire an HTTP request. Buttons, toggles, sliders, displays; up to 16 screens.

Works with Home Assistant · Shelly · Tasmota · Hue · Bond · node-sonos-http-api · Tado · Pushover · IFTTT — anything with an HTTP endpoint.

These hardware units are the next ones I'll make some apps for:

• Waveshare ESP32-S3 2.06" AMOLED Touch
• Waveshare ESP32-S3 1.75" AMOLED Touch
• Waveshare ESP32-S3 1.43" AMOLED Touch

I chose these because they are - like the 1.8" AMOLED - ready-made, small and portable and fairly similar to the 1.8", so I hope I'll see results soon!

These are also open for community app submissions now! If you want to publish an app for another device, drop me a line and I'll add it...

20 apps to begin with, all for the Waveshare ESP32-S3 AMOLED 1.8".

I really think these cheap but polished devices are a perfect match for a one-tool-for-one-task philosophy. Nevertheless, I also published an "app-pack" for easier testing.
